Antonio Rüdiger calls Arsenal star to Real Madrid
Real Madrid star Antonio Rüdiger has named a member of the defensive ranks at Premier League giants Arsenal as the one player he would bring to Spain’s capital, if afforded the opportunity.
German international Rüdiger on Thursday sat down for an interview with YouTube channel ‘The Inside Scoop’.
Over the course of the discussion, a whole host of interesting questions were posed to the former Chelsea man, from his current situation in Madrid to goal celebrations and more.
The one which has since piqued the most widespread attention, though, surrounded the game’s standout central defenders at present.
Asked to name the three best centre-backs in world football, excluding himself, Rüdiger responded:
“I won’t do in order. Saliba, Van Dijk, and Gabriel is pushing.”
From here, the German honed in on Arsenal standout William Saliba, admitting that he would be delighted to have the 23-year-old by his side in Madrid:
“I’m very happy with my centre-back partner, Militão. He came back from a big injury, he’s getting back to his best. But there’s so many games, so we would rotate, so to have Saliba… it would be great.”
