Over the years, FC Barcelona has produced many talents that have been regarded as future world beaters. Either due to the story of how they make it or simply due to initial impressions, such players often create high expectations early on. Unfortunately, not every promising youngster at Barcelona gets to live up to those expectations.

While some players like Lamine Yamal continue to reach new heights, others seem to falter no matter how hard they try. Even before Yamal got his big break, however, there was one player who many believed would be the one to lead the new generation of Barcelona forward.

Ansu Fati, aged 21 now, had always been the one player that Barça had extremely high hopes from. Even when Lionel Messi left, Fati’s presence would instil a lot of hope into a team that needed it then more than ever. Unfortunately, a series of untimely injuries took that all away.

Now, as SPORT highlights, Ansu Fati continues to see himself become a part of a declining trend of both his valuation and his importance to the team. With Hansi Flick seemingly relying on other players a lot more now, Fati’s minutes have been irregular and it simply does not allow him to recover his best sensations.

Moreover, in the latest update from Transfermarkt, the player has seen his value decline by yet another €10 million as it hits a €15 million valuation for the Spanish forward. To compare this value to his highest ever standing, he was valued at €80 million back at a point in 2020.

Since then, constant injuries and a rather lacklustre loan spell at English Premier League side Brighton has left the player in a difficult position. Before joining the team in England, moreover, the player had a valuation of €35 million, and it has all been even more downhill ever since.

In fact, because of this consistent decline, Barcelona are reportedly even open to offloading him in January if the right kind of offer arrives. As of right now, Fati’s future seems to have no guarantees in terms of where exactly he will end up having to continue his career at this rate.
