Ansu Fati and Alejandro Balde train together ahead of Barcelona preseason

Barcelona duo Ansu Fati and Alejandro Balde have returned early ahead of preseason training next month.

La Blaugrana are due back in camp in mid-July, but several players will have their return dates tweaked, due to a busy summer of international action.

Neither Fati not Balde were called up for Spain duty at Euro 2024 and they are focused on a club return in 2024/25 as part of joint training camp in Tona.

Balde’s omission was based on a hamstring injury suffered at the start of 2024 which ended his campaign.

The defender has since seen his contract extension ratified by La Liga but Fati’s future is unclear.

Despite being heralded as a future Barcelona superstar, injuries have derailed his career, and the incoming months could define what happens next.

Fati is determined to fight for his place at Barcelona with extra training put in to protect from injury.

Barcelona head to the USA for a preseason tour in July and August with games against Manchester City, Real Madrid and AC Milan before the La Liga season starts on August 17.
