Another top-six finish would be 'brilliant' for Dundee - Dodds

Former Dundee striker Kenny Miller believes one of Tony Docherty's main focuses this summer will be keeping hold of key players, in addition to making new signings.

Luke McCowan was excellent for Docherty last season as Dundee secured a top-six finish in the Premiership, but has been linked with a move to champions Celtic in recent weeks.

"Can he keep hold of these top performers?" Miller asked on Sportsound.

"Luke McCowan was outstanding last season. Lyall Cameron too.

"Docherty will be looking to utilise the loan market again because he found a couple of gems last season, the likes of Owen Beck."

Another former Dundee striker, Billy Dodds, says a repeat of their top-half position would represent success for Docherty.

"It’s a hard bar to set right away because people expect that now," he said.

"Tony knows they are probably not going to finish top three or four, but if they can get in the top six again it’ll be a brilliant season."
