La Liga giants Barcelona have this weekend wrapped up a contract extension agreement with yet another of the club’s up-and-coming talents.

That’s according to Diario Sport, citing RAC1, who point towards Ander Astralaga as the player in question.

Astralaga, for his part, is a 20-year-old goalkeeper, who has been plying his trade on Barcelona’s books since back in the summer of 2028.

The Spanish youth international is held in high regard behind the scenes in Catalunya’s capital, considered a potential future first-team option in the making.

Recent word in the media, pointing towards the Camp Nou brass working towards tying Astralaga down to fresh terms, therefore came as little surprise.

And, as alluded to above, this weekend, such talks have borne fruit.

As per Sport:

‘The goalkeeper will extend until 2026, although the agreement goes until June 2028.’

Astralaga is expected to act as the third-choice goalkeeper in Hansi Flick’s first-team squad at Barcelona over the season ahead.

He follows the likes of Toni Fernández, Guille Fernández and Òscar Gistau, all in the space of the last couple of weeks, in committing his future to the Blaugrana.
