Another out-of-favour Barcelona star convincing Hansi Flick of his qualities

A forgotten member of the defensive ranks at La Liga giants Barcelona is succeeding in efforts to convince new head coach Hansi Flick of his talents.

That’s according to the reliable Tot Costa, who point towards Clément Lenglet as the player in question.

Stopper Lenglet, for his part, is fresh off a return to base in Catalunya’s capital this summer.

After Premier League outfit Aston Villa opted against making the Frenchman’s arrival permanent at the conclusion of his one-year loan, Lenglet linked up with incoming Barcelona head coach Hansi Flick’s ranks for pre-season.

And, to date, the former Sevilla star has evidently impressed…

As per the aforementioned Tot Costa:

‘Flick is very satisfied with the performance of Clément Lenglet so far. Defensive absences will make him important in the preseason.’

It remains to be seen whether Lenglet’s efforts could prove enough for the 29-year-old to carve out a place for himself at the Camp Nou for the season ahead, but such a scenario, previously deemed as off the table, no longer appears so.
