Another Barcelona star picks up injury on international duty
La Liga giants Barcelona have on Tuesday been handed some altogether concerning news on the personnel front.
This comes amid confirmation that Robert Lewandowski is struggling with an injury.
Lewandowski’s Poland are currently locked in action, in a Nations League meeting with Croatia at the PGE Narodowy.
The 36-year-old, for his part, was left on the bench from the off in Warsaw, for what was originally assumed to be a much-needed rest.
Speaking to the media ahead of kick-off on Tuesday, however, Poland head coach Michal Probierz confirmed that this is in fact not the case.
Instead, Probierz, in quotes gathered by Mundo Deportivo, revealed that his side’s prolific frontman ‘has a slight injury’.
The nature of the problem has not yet been announced, with a further update on Lewandowski’s wellbeing expected on the back of the full-time whistle later tonight.
As things stand, though, the former Bayern Munich man’s status for Barcelona’s weekend meeting with Sevilla has been thrown up in the air.
This, of course, comes after Blaugrana teammate Lamine Yamal was sent home from national duty with Spain over the weekend owing to a fitness issue of his own.
