New angle justifies Barcelona anger after disallowed goal vs Real Sociedad
A new angle of the controversial VAR decision to have gone against Barcelona in the club’s meeting with Real Sociedad on Sunday has come to the fore online.
And it will no doubt only serve in intensifying the anger on the part of the Barca faithful…
For those who may have missed it, a VAR call sparked widespread chatter at Anoeta late last night.
This came after what looked set to be a Robert Lewandowski Barcelona opener was ruled out for offside.
Ensuing images of the incident to have surfaced online, however, saw it widely concluded that those in charge of checking the goal mistook the foot of Sociedad defender Nayef Aguerd for that of Lewandowski, therefore making an incorrect offside call.

Blaugrana boss Hansi Flick, for one, was not shy in making his feelings on as much clear post-match:
“It was clear. What I see is a very clear goal. If it was counted, the match would have been very different for us.”
And, as alluded to above, approaching 24 hours on from the San Sebastian clash, a new angle of the incident has come to the fore on social media.
The image in question, captured by a fan in the stands, appears to provide the clearest evidence yet that Lewandowski’s leading foot was behind that of Aguerd:
