Anfield Watch: Liverpool rocked by Luis Diaz contract demands – Milan register interest

Liverpool have been left surprised by Luis Diaz’s contract demands, a report claims, and AC Milan are considering a move.

According to what is being reported by Anfield Watch, Diaz ‘has given Liverpool an astonishing contract demand’, while the club are trying to extend Mohamed Salah, Virgil van Dijk and Trent Alexander-Arnold who are all on expiring deals.

Diaz signed a contract until 2027 when he arrived from FC Porto, meaning he will be in the last two years of his deal in the summer. The report claims he earns about £55k per week with the Reds, and he is wanting that hiking up to €150k.

Milan ‘are indeed interested in the Colombian’s services’ as per the report, because he is seen as the ‘ideal replacement for Rafael Leao’. The Rossoneri could cash in on the winger in the summer if the right offer comes in, knowing he has plenty of suitors.

However, it seems that Milan ‘cannot afford’ the Colombia international ‘due to his excessive salary demands’. Diaz has nine goals and three assists in 22 games this season across all competitions.

It was reported back in March by a source in Colombo that Milan are keeping an eye on his situation, so it appears that the interest is long-standing.
