Andy Dalton ready for big pay day

Andy Dalton has taken a look around the league at what other franchises are paying their quarterbacks.

Entering the final year of his rookie contract, Dalton believes it's time for him to be compensated among the rest of them. Speaking to ESPN.com, Dalton said he understands the importance of the position and what it means for each organization.

"For a lot of these quarterbacks, if you're the quarterback of the team, you're the face of the franchise," Dalton said. "So these teams obviously believe in their guy and they're going to pay him that way."

Dalton is entering the final year of his contract this season.

The Bengals have a lot of decisions to make soon. A.J. Green is also entering the final year of his rookie deal and Vontaze Burfict, based on his on-field play, is a restrictred free agent in 2015.
