Het Nieuwsblad are reporting that while Anderlecht are still hoping of signing Ludwig Augustinsson for the upcoming season, they have, for now, decided to move on from also trying to bring back Thomas Delaney. Both were loanees last season from Spanish side Sevilla, who are proving trickier to negotiate with than Anderlecht hoped in the finalization of permanent transfers for both players. Neither player is part of the Spanish sides long-term plans and are certainly available to move.

Anderlecht have instead turned their focus to bringing in Dennis Praet on a free or Abdelkahar Kadri from Kortrijk. The latter is of major interest to Cardiff City as well, but according to reports he is not keen on a move to Wales. Anderlecht could offer him a chance of competing for titles in Belgium and European football, which may be enough to bring him to Brussels.

Anderlecht have been slow in the transfer window so far. Despite losing Zeno Debast, they have only re-signed Jan Vertonghen in central defence. Currently, the only other central defenders they have are Amando Lapage, 19-years-old, and Nunzio Engwanda who is just 16. Both are expected to get game time this season.
