Speaking at a press conference last night ahead of Real Madrid’s pre-season friendly against AC Milan, Carlo Ancelotti has ruled out any more transfer activity at the club this summer.

Real Madrid have brought in Kylian Mbappe and Endrick this summer but reports suggested that the club remain in the lookout for more additions.

A new centre-back had been on the agenda with Leny Yoro having been the primary target. But since the Frenchman opted to sign for Manchester United, Los Blancos have been linked with several other defenders.

However, Ancelotti ruled out the possibility of signing a new defender, stating that the club will rely on the resources that are already at their disposal such as Jesus Vallejo and academy talents like Joan Martinez and Raul Asencio.

“The squad is closed. Vallejo is back, Alaba is recovering. We have the youngsters: Joan [Martinez], Jacobo [Ramon] and Raúl [Asencio],” said Ancelotti, as quoted by AS.

Real Madrid were also being linked with a move for Alphonso Davies to reinforce the left-back position.

But now that also appears to be off the table, with the Canadian set to continue at Bayern Munich with the Merengues now considering signing him on a free transfer in the summer of 2025, when his contract runs out.

At the same time, Ancelotti also confirmed that there will be no more exits from the Santiago Bernabeu either despite players like Dani Ceballos and Andriy Lunin being linked with departures.

“There are no departures because everyone wants to stay,” Ancelotti confirmed.
