Amorim poised to start ‘brilliant’ United ace against Viktoria Plzen
Manchester United are scheduled to visit Viktoria Plzen in the Europa League tomorrow.
They have received a triple boost ahead of the game, with Victor Lindelof, Jonny Evans and Toby Collyer in training.
Lindelof returned to training before last weekend, and he could be in line to make his first appearance under Ruben Amorim in Czechia.
The Swede previously played with Amorim when the duo were at Benfica. He was very excited over a reunion last month but picked up a hamstring injury.
The central defender, who was described as ‘brilliant‘ by former manager Erik ten Hag, has now returned to full fitness, and he could start in the back three tomorrow.
Lindelof has already played in a 3-4-2-1 system for his country. He has generally operated from the right side of the back three and could occupy the same role against Plzen.
The 30-year-old has been a fringe player for United for some time. The Swede is fighting for his club future, with his contract expiring at the end of the season.
Lindelof has impressed in Europe this term, but he needs to stay consistent to persuade Amorim to keep him.
Noussair Mazraoui has been the regular in the right centre-back position, but he could play higher up as the right wing-back with Amad Diallo being rested.
