Amorim could hand Man Utd teenage sensation debut on Sunday after pulling him out of U21 game
Manchester United defender Leny Yoro could make his debut during the Premier League game away at Ipswich Town on Sunday, according to the Manchester Evening News.
The 19-year-old was due to start when the Red Devils under-21s took on Altrincham on Tuesday night, but he was withdrawn from the squad after training under new Ruben Amorim on Monday.
The Portuguese made the call, and he reportedly wants him ready for action this Sunday instead of featuring him for the under-21s.
Yoro joined Man United from Lille on July 18, only to pick up a knock in a pre-season friendly against Arsenal a few days later.
The French centre-back had an operation and has since returned to full fitness.
The teenage sensation started on the right of a back three during the training session on Monday, with Jonny Evans in the middle and Luke Shaw on the left.
He is expected to be a key player in the 3-4-3 formation deployed by the new Man United boss, and his official debut could come on Sunday.
While the under-21s game was supposed to help him build his match fitness, Amorim decided against it, and Yoro will fancy his chances of starting against Ipswich or coming off the bench.
The Red Devils will be desperate to hit the ground running under their new boss, and all eyes will be on them this weekend.
Man United still want to bolster their defensive options. They have reportedly held more talks in recent weeks about the feasibility of signing Everton centre-back Jarrad Branthwaite in January.
