Katy Perry fans have followed the singer's career evolve over the years from her debut self-titled album to becoming an American Idol judge. Now, the "Dark Horse" vocalist is pursing a different kind of venture away from the cameras and more in line with her show-stopping fashion moments.
On March 29, the Grammy-nominated artist announced the relaunch of her shoe brand, Katy Perry Collections, on Instagram. After originally kicking off her footwear line in 2017, Katy officially brought it back to the market just in time for spring. What's more, the 37-year-old singer-songwriter revealed that she now has full ownership of her latest project.
"Sitting on top of the world - literally as 100% owner and CEO of @katyperrycollections and figuratively on these magnificent new Spring platforms," she captioned a promo photo. In the picture, the "Roar" singer wears a pastel-colored patterned jumpsuit paired with a muted baby blue shoe.
After seeing Katy's exciting news, her celebrity friends immediately began congratulating her on the one-of-a-kind accomplishment. "Yes PRESIDENT and CEO. get it girl. ❤️❤️," costume designer Johnny Wujek wrote. "Congrats BOSS 👠👸🏻," celebrity makeup artist Michael Anthony added.
Unsurprisingly, fans were just as elated to find out that California native had added a new impressive title to her résumé. "WE LOVE TO SEE IT," one fan wrote. "LETS CELEBRATE!!! 🙌," another added. "Can’t wait to STEP in summer with cute new looks," a different fan said.
According to a press release, Katy Perry Collections relaunched with flat, sandals, heels and sneakers in a color palette "inspired by vibrant blooming flowers." What's more, the spring line incorporates design elements like raffia and gingham in its 19 different styles that will "turn heads, stop traffic, and start conversations."
"I am happily ready to fully step into this new chapter of 100 percent owning and operating Katy Perry Collections,” Katy said in a statement. “Spring is my favorite season, when everything starts to breathe again, especially your tootsies. These light and bright styles will help you celebrate the season in full bloom."
