📱 Amateur footballer asks Sevilla for a trial - and social media responds
An amateur footballer in Nigeria has potentially earned himself a trail with Sevilla after asking the club on X.
Ola Great tweeted at the Spanish giants on Tuesday pondering how many retweets it would take for a try-out at the Ramón Sánchez–Pizjuán.
Sevilla replied with '100k' and at the time of writing, said tweet has had 139,000 retweets.
“Thank you to everyone that made this happen; thank you, Twitter NG, for this,” Ola said in a follow-up post.
“My heart is full of so many emotions right now."
Sevilla have since acknowledged the remarkable response with their own post which included a link to a statement from 2024 about the creation of a new team mainly for foreign players who are 18 years old and above.
An amateur footballer in Nigeria reached out to Sevilla on X in hope of getting a football trial.
Sevilla responded, promising him an opportunity if their reply reached 100,000 retweets.
The tweet has now far surpassed that target 😮

The statement said: “Sevilla FC will have a new team within its competitive structure. It will be a squad with a strong international dimension and will compete in the Tecera Andaluza, in the ninth tier of Spanish football."
If you see Ola Great in a Sevilla shirt next season, now you'll know why.
