Former Train bassist Charlie Colin dies

Bassist Charlie Colin, one of the founding members of the band Train, has died after falling in the shower. His sister tells Variety that Colin died while house-sitting for a friend in Brussels, Belgium. He was 58. Colin played on the first three Train albums, which included the hits “Meet Virginia,” “Drops of Jupiter” and “Calling All Angels.” He left the band in 2003. Nashville council rejects proposed sign for Morgan Wallen's bar

NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) – Usually, getting approval for a bar sign in Nashville is not a big deal, but the Nashville Metro Council has rejected a proposed sign for Morgan Wallen’s new bar. It voted 30-3 on Tuesday against the proposed sign at Morgan Wallen’s This Bar and Tennessee Kitchen, set to open this weekend. During debate, council members cited Wallen’s April arrest for allegedly throwing a chair off the roof of Eric Church’s bar. They also cited the 2021 incident in which Wallen was caught on video using a racial slur. Wallen’s publicist and T-C Restaurant Group, which will operate Wallen’s bar, did not return requests for comment.

Company that wants to auction Graceland says it will drop claim

MEMPHIS, Tenn. (AP) – The company that threatened to auction off Graceland to pay back a loan appears to be backing off. A statement from someone who appears to represent Naussany (NAW’-sah-nee) Investments and Private Lending says it will drop its claim, although no legal filings to that effect could be located. Elvis Presley’s granddaughter, actor Riley Keough (KEE’-oh), had sued Naussany, saying its claim on Presley’s estate was fraudulent. Naussany had said Keough’s mother, the late Lisa Marie Presley, had put Graceland up as collateral for a 2018 loan she did not pay back. Meanwhile, Elvis Presley Enterprises, which manages Graceland, says the estate will be open to visitors as normal.
