Yahoo Sports Alzate keen to start work with new Hull boss Selles
Hull City midfielder Steven Alzate says that he and the rest of his team-mates are keen to start working with new head coach Ruben Selles.
The Spaniard was sat in the stands for the defeat by Blackburn Rovers, a sixth consecutive loss which pushed the Tigers to the bottom of the Championship.
But Selles, who left Reading to take his new role, will be in charge for Wednesday's home game with Watford, having met his new squad on Friday.
"Everyone is excited, he's bringing a lot of energy to the squad and hopefully we can start picking up results," Alzate said to BBC Radio Humberside.
"He seems like someone who wears his heart on his sleeve, bringing a lot of energy and motivation to the team and we can't wait to start working with him."
Hull last won a Championship game on 1 October, at which point they were ninth. A run of nine matches without victory led to the sacking of head coach Tim Walter, and they have lost both games under interim boss Andy Dawson.
In their current six-game losing streak, four of the defeats have been by a single goal, and Colombia international Alzate believes there is enough quality at Selles' disposal for results to pick up.
"When you look at the table, it's not great right now," he said. "If you watch our games, it's not like we're struggling, we're playing well.
"We're going through a rough patch and if once we get the first goal, they're going to start coming in and hopefully that happens very soon."
