Alphonso Davies talks with Bayern Munich on ice as Real Madrid target keeps options open
The future of Bayern Munich left-back Alphonso Davies has been a tricky saga to follow, with a number of twists already taken. He looks set to enter the last six months of his contract without an agreement with anyone.
According to The Daily Briefing, Davies is keeping his options open going into the January transfer window. Bayern are still hopeful of getting a new contract over the line after making significant progress in talks during recent weeks, but a further strain on relations between the Bavarian side and agent Nedal Huoseh has put any talks on ice until January.
Huoseh is set to spend time in England in the new year, and while Liverpool may meet with him, Christian Falk cites Real Madrid and Manchester United as the two most likely alternatives at this point. He notes that if Liverpool want him, they would be in contention.
The latest reporting in Spain is that Real Madrid are growing increasingly frustrated with Davies’ indecisiveness, and will want an answer by early January. It had appeared as if Bayern were close to an agreement earlier this month, but it seems that was premature. Barcelona had also enquired about his demands, but it looks as if their finances may prohibit them from making a genuine bid.
