Manchester United boss Erik ten Hag has opted for Alejandro Garnacho over Amad Diallo for this afternoon’s clash with Tottenham Hotspur at Old Trafford.

It is a big game for both sides with both teams level with seven points out of a possible 15.

It has been a disappointing start for Ten Hag but he will be hoping he can exploit some of Tottenham’s weaknesses.

Ange Postecoglou likes to set his team up with a high defensive line which could suit the speed of Alejandro Garnacho and Marcus Rashford.

In a similar manner to the FA Cup final vs Manchester City in May, the Red Devils had success on the wings against a high line.

Bruno Fernandes’ ability to find his attackers through the lines will be hugely important this afternoon.

Alejandro Garnacho starts ahead of Amad Diallo vs Tottenham Hotspur

Ten Hag has chosen to play Garnacho ahead of Amad to face Postecoglou’s Tottenham Hotspur side.

Amad has had an impressive start to the season but Garnacho’s explosive style may suit what Ten Hag wants against the Spurs defence.

Joshua Zirkzee starts up-front and will be looking to link up play for Rashford and Garnacho.

He will be up against Micky Van de Ven who has explosive pace and Zirkzee will have to use clever movement to beat his man.

With the former Ajax coach naming both Rahsford and Garnacho in the XI, the Red Devils will try to attack Tottenham on the wings through explosive counterattacks.
