According to Fabrizio Romano, Al-Ittihad are unwilling to entertain the prospect of selling N’Golo Kanté (33) during the summer transfer window. Newly appointed boss of the Saudi Arabian club Laurent Blanc plans on having the services of the France international midfielder in his squad next season.

This deals a blow to West Ham United who have shown a strong interest in the former Chelsea midfielder. The Hammers have had an opening bid rejected by Al-Ittihad for Kanté worth £15m, according to The Guardian. The 33-year-old impressed for Les Bleus during EURO 2024 and has clearly shown clubs in Europe he still has what it takes to perform at the top level.

Focused on incomings

Instead of entertaining outgoings, Al-Ittihad are focused on bolstering their squad after the arrival of former Lyon manager Blanc as their new head coach. The Saudi club have already confirmed the €12m arrival of Houssem Aouar from Roma and are working to sign Moussa Diaby from Aston Villa.
