🚨 Ajax beat Rangers in pre-season friendly

Rangers and Ajax both continued their pre-season preparations as the pair clashed in the Netherlands.

Scorers: Fitz-Jim 27, Van den Boomen 40': Lawrence 33'

Ajax took the lead courtesy of Kian Fitz-Jim, who took advantage of a collision between Jack Butland and Kenneth Taylor to tap into an open net and hand the hosts a 1-0 lead.

Six minutes later Rangers were level courtesy of standout star Tom Lawrence, whose free kick went in off the post to equalise.

But that parity didn't last long, as a mistake from Jack Butland allowed a Van den Boomen free kick to squirm underneath him with five minutes to go in the first half.

Changes came at half time and the second half fizzled out as a result, with Ajax holding out for the win come full time in what will have been a great preparation for the upcoming campaign.
