According to a report by Fabrice Hawkins, an agreement has been reached between Aston Villa’s Moussa Diaby (25) and Al-Ittihad. The French attacking midfielder has agreed on a five-year contract with the Saudi Arabian side.

Al-Ittihad had offered Aston Villa a transfer fee of €55 million for the Frenchman after only one season in England since making the move from Bayer Leverkusen. Al-Ittihad and Aston Villa are yet to agree fully on a deal, but Hawkins notes that the two clubs agree on the key points but the fine details are yet to be finalised.

Moussa Diaby inches closer to Aston Villa exit

It appears highly likely that Al-Ittihad will secure their target this summer. The Saudi Arabian side are hopefully that Diaby will be a key part in turning the squad’s fortunes around after Al-Ittihad finished fifth in the league despite significant investments last summer that saw players like Ngolo Kanté (33) and Karim Benzema (36) join.
