Adrien Rabiot suspended in event of France Euro 2024 qualification

Adrien Rabiot suspended in event of France Euro 2024 qualification

Whilst France’s qualification for the quarter-finals hangs in the balance, one player that won’t feature, regardless, is Adrien Rabiot (29).

Rabiot, whose contract at Juventus has now expired, was one of three players at risk of suspension in the event of receiving a yellow card against Belgium in the Round of 16. Masked captain Kylian Mbappé and Ousmane Dembélé, who started on the bench, both went into the match walking a tightrope.

Rabiot, who has thus far started in all of Les Bleus’ matches in Euro 2024, won’t do so if they reach the quarter-final. The free agent received a yellow in the first half of France’s group-stage match against Poland. It didn’t take him long to go into the book against Belgium.

His rash challenge on Jeremy Doku saw the referee brandish a yellow card, thus ruling him out of the next match if there is one. Aurélien Tchouaméni and Antoine Griezmann also went into the book in the first half.
