It was a special night at the Stade Louis II on Saturday as AS Monaco hosted Montpellier HSC. The match itself almost played second fiddle to the spectacle around it, with the Principality club celebrating its centenary.

For the occasion, iconic former players and managers of Les Monégasques were present, firstly at the club’s training centre in La Turbie in the afternoon, before heading down the Principality, where they did a lap of honour at the Stade Louis II, before settling down for the main event.

Hütter unfazed by record

Arsène Wenger, Claude Puel, Gérard Banide, and Leonardo Jardim were all notably in attendance. And whilst they all marked the history of the Principality club, Adi Hütter is looking to do the same. Thanks to the 2-1 win over Montpellier, secured through Lamine Camara’s last-gasp effort, Les Monégasques not only continue their unbeaten start to the season, going joint-top of Ligue 1 alongside Paris Saint-Germain but it also leaves Hütter with an impressive record.

With 28 wins in 44 games since taking charge at the start of the 2023/24 season, Hütter’s 63.6% win percentage is the best of any Monaco manager in the 21st century. However, it is a record that he isn’t paying too much attention to. “I didn’t know it but maybe it’s a nice [stat],” began Hütter in a press conference, attended by Get French Football News.

“When I hear that Arsène Wenger is here, and also some other coaches, it’s a huge family, and to celebrate this century game with a victory, we gave our gift, but the other thing [the win percentage], I’m not a big fan,” he added.
