Adeyemi demands lucrative salary to complete Napoli switch
Karim Adeyemi has become Napoli’s primary target after the Partenopei decided to exit the race for Alejandro Garnacho, mainly due to Manchester United’s lucrative demands, but they now could face a similar issue in negotiations with the Borussia Dortmund forward.
Antonio Conte’s side has been on the lookout for a player to replace Khvicha Kvaratskhelia after his move to PSG, but the €70-80m price-tag set by the Red Devils for the Argentina international complicated their plans, forcing them to switch their focus to alternative options.
According to recent reports, the club has been making progress for Dortmund’s Adeyemi, closing in on an agreement with the Bundesliga giants for a fee of around €40m.
Adeyemi’s demands to join Napoli revealed
While the 23-year-old was initially willing to stay at the club until next summer, he is said to be gradually opening to the prospect of moving to the Stadio Maradona after talking with Conte and realising the German outfit is already looking for a replacement.
However, Calciomercato.com explains that he demands seasonal wages of €4.5m to make the move, which would make him the second most-paid player in Napoli’s squad.
Adeyemi has five goals and as many assists from 14 games across all competitions with Dortmund this season.
