'Would You Like The Address?': Evander Kane Provides New Surgery Update
EDMONTON -- More details about the worst-kept secret in Oil Country have come to light.
The Edmonton Oilers held their first day of training camp on Wednesday, Sept. 18. Oilers GM Stan Bowman and several players spoke to the media and participated in fitness testing and physicals.
It's been known that Evander Kane will undergo surgery over the next while to repair an abdominal issue. In yesterday's availability, he revealed when the problems began.

"I felt something was wrong in late October," Kane told reporters. It "slowly got worse over time. Probably December/January, it was getting much worse."
Many people (myself included) were surprised that action wasn't taken earlier in the season last year to rectify the problems Kane was having. Kane spoke about why things weren't so cut and dry.
"The thing with this injury is some days you feel better than others," Kane said. "Obviously...by the time we got around to (playoffs), it wasn't any better – it was getting severely worse."
What exactly are Kane's injuries?
"Both abductors on each hip, two torn lower abdominal muscles and two hernias," he said.
Kane also revealed when he is going to be going under the knife.
"I'm a few days away from getting surgery."
This led to a fun exchange between a veteran journalist and Kane. He was asked about when and where he was having the surgery.
"Would you like the address and the zip code?" Kane asked. After laughing at his response, Kane added, "I'll be having the surgery in the next couple of days."
Kane has endured several injuries over the last few years, including a lacerated wrist, broken ribs and a broken hand. He's hopeful he can return to full health and contribute to this team like only he can.
"I'm excited to get this fixed and get healthy," Kane said. "I'm really looking forward to feeling 100 percent for the first time in a while."
