Adam Lowry To Be Out Against The Avalanche; Jets Throw Lines In Blender
Adam Lowry exited Monday's game against Utah HC with an injury and will be out tonight against the Colorado Avalanche.
Lowry fell awkwardly into the boards in the first period of Monday's game against Utah and did not return for the second or third period. He was absent from today's morning skate ahead of their matchup against the Avalanche indicating he'll miss his first game of the season. Following practice, Lowry was announced week-to-week with an upper-body injury.
Scott Arniel says that Adam Lowry is out "week to week" with an upper body injury, suffered in the first period against Utah.

The Jets' captain has been as reliable as they come. Both in his play on the ice and his availability. Entering the 2024-25 season, Lowry had missed just four games out of a possible 246. When he is playing, the Jets know exactly what they are going to get out of him. A hard nose, a defensively responsible game with the ability to pitch in offensively. In the 48 games he's played this year, he's recorded 11 goals and 26 points.
The leadership and effort the 31-year-old centre provides will be missed but the Jets must find a way to win without him.
HC Scott Arniel's early plan to combat Lowry's absence revolves around switching his forward lines. Gabriel Vilardi has been moved off of the top line and Alex Iafallo has taken his spot next to Kyle Connor and Mark Scheifele. Vilardi will skate alongside Nikolaj Ehlers and Vladislav Namestnikov on the second line.
Mason Appleton is making his return and will be on a line with Morgan Barron and David Gustaffson.
As I chatted with @saraorlesky and @JamieThomasTV, @UtilityVoice was all over the line rushes.

The one change on the backend will be Haydn Fleury returning to the lineup to skate alongside Logan Stanley. Colin Miller will step out of the lineup as both he and Ville Heinola stayed out after practice for extra work, indicating that they will be healthy scratches.
The Avalanche lost their most recent game 3-1 to the Minnesota Wild and remain in the first wild card spot in the Western Conference. They have slowly rounded out their game becoming more balanced at all three phases but have lacked the consistency they have shown in the past.
The Jets defeated the Avalanche 3-0 last time they met and will look for a similar result.
Puck drop is at 8:30 P.M. CST at Ball Arena.
