Brentford Women secured three points with a clinical 6-1 win over Actonians Reserves on Sunday.

Returning to London South East Division One North action, the Bees dominated from start to finish at Gunnersbury Sports Park, Chloe Logie starring with four goals alongside Ella Cottrell and Freya Worsley who each netted once.

Karleigh Osborne made one change to his starting line-up from last weekend’s win over Leyton Orient, Maddie Phillips coming in for the injured Keira Ferns for her Brentford debut. Ellen Wardlaw and Lucy Bolitho also came back into the squad as substitutes.

The Bees wasted little time going on the attack to start the game, Logie taken down in the box for a penalty on two minutes which she converted for Brentford’s first goal.

She was back in the action six minutes later, running onto a Worsley ball and finding the back of the net for goal number two.

Logie made it three first-half goals on 14 minutes, beating the Actonians keeper to the ball and putting it into an empty net to make it 3-0.

Osborne’s side made it 4-0 on 19 minutes, Logie finding Cottrell in the box who put the ball in the top right corner as the Bees continued to dominate.

The home side managed to halt Brentford’s momentum briefly, finding their first goal on 21 minutes.

After a fast paced opening half of the first 45 minutes, the game slowed as the break approached, both sides enjoying time in possession without threatening the goals.

Just as his side had done to start the game, Osborne’s group wasted little time hitting the scoreboard to start the second half, Nikki Woods’ corner hitting Worsley on 48 minutes who headed it home to make it 5-1.

Woods was in distribution mode again as the hour mark approached, crossing to Kirsty Matthews in the box whose shot flew just over the bar.

Logie went one better 10 minutes later to score her fourth goal, pouncing on a loose ball after it had bobbled around in the box and finding the back of the net.

The Bees continued to control possession as the game drew to a close without challenging the Actonians keeper.

Wardlaw, Bolitho, Aya Mirjan, Maddie Heavingham-Ford and Sophie Troth each gained valuable minutes in the second half, helping to ensure the 6-1 score line and three points.
