Accrington sign Brown from Morecambe

Accrington Stanley have signed striker Charlie Brown from Morecambe for an undisclosed fee on a two-and-a-half-year deal.

The 25-year-old is a product of Chelsea's academy system, scoring 53 goals for the Blues at youth and reserve team level.

Following a loan spell with Belgian Pro League side Royale Union Saint-Gilloise in 2020, Brown moved on to MK Dons, Cheltenham and Morecambe.

Brown, who reunites with his ex-Shrimps boss Ged Brannan, now assistant at Stanley, has committed to the club until the summer of 2027

And manager John Doolan believes he will be a good addition to the squad.

"Ged knows Charlie from his Morecambe days and we know him from playing against him earlier this season," Doolan told the club website.

"His experience, the quality he has got, the games he has got, the goals he has scored, so when you get someone like that, it's a no-brainer, it's a good bit of business."
