AC Milan and Inter Milan have taken a significant step forward in their bid to build a new stadium in the San Siro area.

According to Gazzetta dello Sport, as reported by FCInter1908, the Revenue Agency has made a final assessment of the value of Giuseppe Meazza and surrounding areas.

It will take north of €200 million to finish the project.

Per the report, Milan and Inter will have the document in hand by the weekend.

Therefore, their quest to build a new home in the San Siro district is gaining momentum.

Despite Milan president Paolo Scaroni recently stating their view isn’t ‘completely aligned’ with Inter, they’re making progress.

Meanwhile, Milan Mayor Beppe Sala admitted the clubs will announce their final decision in the coming days.

AC Milan & Inter Milan Make Progress In New San Siro Project But It Won’t Come Cheap

Milan and Inter have been adamant about their effort to build a new home in the San Siro area.

However, the bureaucracy has slowed down the process.

After months of intense talks, both clubs still await the finalization of key agreements with local authorities.

The goal is to facilitate the construction of a modern venue that will serve as their new home.

The local administration is working towards transferring the ownership of the Meazza area to the clubs.

But it will cost over €200m.

This step comes as both clubs show interest in acquiring the space.

It will allow them to move forward with their plans for a new venue.

Meetings with the city administration aim to finalize the feasibility document for the project.

On the other hand, the clubs are optimistic that securing ownership of the Meazza area will lead to a smoother development process.

Once they get their hands on the feasibility document, they hope to accelerate the project.

Indeed, they are keen to establish a timeline for the construction of their new stadium.
