AC Milan Femminile 1-1 Inter Femminile: Nadim saves Rossonere in historic derby
AC Milan Femmenile and Inter played out a historic Derby della Madonnina at San Siro this afternoon, and the Rossonere were saved by Nadia Nadim.
For the first time in history, a women’s Derby della Madonnina fixture was played at San Siro, which is a huge step forward for Milan. In addition to this, the Femmenile were the first to wear the 125th anniversary kit in a competitive fixture making the game more special.
The game started as the Diavolo would have wanted, with the opening 30 minutes dominated by Milan, and alongside this came a few chances, but the Rossonere could not get themselves ahead in the game – bright signs nevertheless, though.
On the strike of half time Suzanne Bakker’s side fell behind via a goal from Bartoli, which came against the run of play, and the hosts were unlucky to fall behind after a half of domination.
Just as was the trend in the first half, Milan began brightly and within six minutes they found their reward. Nadim was found in the box by Renzotti and duly levelled the game infront of the almost 2,500 specators in attendance.
Despite having the better chances of the second half, the Rossonere could not find another goal, and the game ended with the score level. However, nothing can be taken away from the side on a monumental day.
