🇬🇭 How Abdul Fatawu's absence could cost Leicester City

Leicester City are in the thick of the relegation dog-fight after their return to the Premier League, and the absence of one key man could prove decisive.

Currently sitting 17th in the table and just one point from safety under new boss Ruud van Nistelrooy, the Foxes look to be on the ropes and hanging on until the final bell, and will have to do so without the services of Ghanaian international Abdul Fatawu.

The 20-year-old winger first arrived at the KP Stadium last season from Sporting CP on loan, and shone for Leicester under former boss Enzo Maresca, helping the club achieve promotion back to the English top flight at the first time of asking.

He started brightly this season for the club, too, before a serious cruciate ligament injury back in November will see him miss the rest of the campaign.

His brilliance on the ball and his ability to be direct was a key instrument in what made Leicester tick, as stats show that he still leads the club in successful take-ons despite already missing two months.

Without the bright winger, Leicester have managed just two wins and a draw in 12 league fixtures, while they posted a 2-4-5 record with him in the team.

If the Foxes do go down, this could be a major reason why.
