Heads up, 9-1-1 fans — the 118 is officially coming back for another round of emergencies!

Just weeks after the hit procedural drama began airing episodes of season 7 on ABC, fans got the ultimate surprise from the network. Ahead of the show's 100th episode, which aired April 4, Variety dropped the bombshell that 9-1-1 has been renewed for an eighth season. According to the outlet, the season 8 news comes as the show's season 7 premiere on March 14 had 11.8 million multi-platform viewers tuning in within the first seven days of airing, making the series the most-watched across all platforms on ABC this TV season.

And the publication isn't the only one sounding the alarms. 9-1-1's official Instagram confirmed the announcement with a post featuring the current cast. "Breaking news: 9-1-1 will be coming back to ABC for Season 8!" read the official caption uploaded on April 2.

As soon as fans learned that 9-1-1 would be back for another season, they bombarded the comments to relish in their excitement.

"NOBODY GETS HOW IMPORTANT THIS IS TO MEEEEE 😭," one person wrote. "You know you're killing it when you just wrapped up the season premiere and numbers say RENEW ME NOW!!! 🔥🔥🔥🔥🔥👏👏👏👏👏," another exclaimed. "That’s what I’m talkin bout!!!! We should at least get ten seasons. This show is so good," a different follower added.

For those wondering about how the cast feels about 9-1-1 coming back for another year, Oliver Stark (who plays Evan "Buck" Buckley) posted a sentimental Instagram note alongside a series of behind-the-scenes photos featuring Kenneth Choi (who plays Howard "Chimney" Han), Aisha Hinds (who portrays Henrietta "Hen" Wilson), Peter Krause (who portrays Bobby Nash) and Ryan Guzman (who plays Eddie Diaz).

"Another year with this bunch!" he wrote. "How lucky am I!? 🥹 @911onabc season 8 ahead! 🥳."

Well, it looks like we have a lot more to look forward to from the 118!
