European football returned to our screens this weekend after a week of international games, and boy oh boy, are we glad that it did.

Its return was marked by top class performances from some of the best footballers in Europe, as well as some shockingly good ones from lesser known players too.

And after all of that fun, we at 90min are back again to ranked the best-performing players on the continent this past weekend.

7. Conor Gallagher

Having been essentially pushed out of Chelsea during the summer, Conor Gallagher has looked like a man on a mission to prove the Blues hierarchy wrong since joining Atletico Madrid.

The midfielder was in fine form during the thumping 3-0 win over Valencia at the weekend, scoring his first goal for the club and winning eight duels in a combative performance.

6. Victor Boniface

Bayer Leverkusen needed a big bounce-back win after their shock defeat to RB Leipzig prior to the international break, and thanks to Victor Boniface, they got exactly that.

The forward was in mercurial form during the 4-1 win, setting up the opening goal of the game before netting two of his own. Top class.

5. Romelu Lukaku

We're not sure how he does it, but every time Antonio Conte gets his hands on Romelu Lukaku he gets the absolute best out of him.

It happened during his time at Inter, in which he scored a whopping 64 goals in 95 games, and it seems to be happening right now at SSC Napoli too.

The forward was utterly brilliant in the win over Cagliari, scoring one and assisting two more in the 4-0 victory.

4. Lamine Yamal

He's 17 years old and he's already one of the best footballers in the world.

Have we ever said that about a player before? Probably not.

Lamine Yamal was once again in fantastic form over the weekend, netting two goals in the space of seven minutes to seal a crucial win over Girona for Barcelona.

With Yamal on the right side of their attack, Barca should be considered UEFA Champions League contenders. That's how good he is.

3. Javier Puado

Considering the fact that he spent last season on the Segunda Division with Espanyol, Javier Puado is probably not a name you're particularly familiar with.

Despite his relative obscurity, Puado was one of the best-performing players in Europe this past weekend.

The Espanyol captain went full Super Saiyan in the 3-2 win over Alaves in La Liga, netting a stunning hat-trick to secure a vital three points for the newly promoted side.

If he continues this form, then Espanyol look a cert to stay up.

Karim Adeyemi is officially in the form of his life right now.

After netting five goals in two Germany Under-21 games during the international break, the wide forward bagged another two in the win over Heidenheim at club level on Friday evening.

Seven goals in three games - those are Erling Haaland numbers.

1. Harry Kane

As we saw in 2023/24, Bundesliga defences are no match for Harry Kane.

In 2024/25, Kane has continued to make mince meat of them too.

The England captain looked pretty unstoppable over the weekend once again, this time netting a hat-trick and bagging an assist in a thumping 6-1 win over Holstein Kiel.
