Gameweek 5 of the 2024/25 European football season will be remembered for one thing: huge margins of victory.

Over in the Bundesliga we were treated to a 5-1 and a 5-0, in La Liga we saw another 5-1 and in Ligue 1 we were spoilt with a quite ridiculous 8-0 win for OGC Nice over a sorry Saint-Etienne side.

And after all of that fun, we at 90min are back again to rank the best-performing players on the continent this past weekend.

7. Enzo Millot

The most surprising result of the weekend, by a considerable distance, was Stuttgart's 5-1 thumping of Borussia Dortmund.

No, that wasn't a typo by the way. Stuttgart beat Borussia Dortmund 5-1. That's a thing that actually happened.

And it happened thanks to Enzo Millot going Super Saiyan on the right flank.

The 22-year-old looked genuinely unstoppable on Sunday, setting up two goals and scoring one of his own in the huge win.

6. Youssoufa Moukoko

Having been very goal shy at the weekend, Dortmund fans probably look longingly at Youssoufa Moukoko's stats in OGC Nice's 8-0 win over Saint-Etienne.

The forward, on loan from BVB, put in the best performance of his senior career at the weekend.

In his first ever start for Nice, Moukoko grabbed his first three goal contributions for the club, netting two goals and setting up one for his teammates. Nice one.

5. Geronimo Rulli

There were plenty of very entertaining games played across Europe at the weekend, but Marseille's 3-2 win over Olympique Lyonnais was undoubtedly the pick of the bunch.

A 95th-minute goal from Jonathan Rowe earned a dramatic victory for a ten-man OM side on the night after Leonardo Balerdi was sent off in the fifth minute of the game and, while the English youngster dominated the headlines after the win, the real star of the game was Geronimo Rulli.

The Marseille goalkeeper was utterly fantastic.

He made six saves in total throughout a busy 90 minutes, including a brilliant one to deny Alexandre Lacazette from the penalty spot.

4. Kylian Mbappe

After a relatively slow start to life at Real Madrid by his own lofty standards, Kylian Mbappe looks to have really found his stride now.

The France superstar put in the best performance of his Los Blancos career thus far at the weekend, showing off both his finishing prowess by scoring a penalty and his willingness to be unselfish and tee up his teammates by assisting Vinicius Junior's goal in the 4-1 win over Espanyol.

3. Raphinha

Having just netted a brace against Villarreal to take his goal contribution tally for the season to seven in six La Liga games, it's fair to say Raphinha is in the form of his life right now.

His second goal in particular, a bounced volleyed finish over Diego Conde, was proof of just how confident the Brazilian is right now. Top class.

2. Viktor Gyokeres

Speaking of players in the form of their lives, here's one of the most in-form strikers in Europe right now.

After scoring another brace in Sporting CP's 3-0 win over AVS Futebol SAD at the weekend, Viktor Gyokeres has now netted ten goals in just six Liga Portugal games.

That is utterly bonkers.

It's been quite the week for Michael Olise.

After marking his first ever UEFA Champions League game with a brace, Olise then proceeded to score another in Bayern Munich's 5-0 win over Werder Bremen.

He didn't just score a brace, however. He also set up two more goals for his teammates.

The 22-year-old has proven to be quite the signing for Bayern thus far.
