FC Barcelona are prioritizing two attacking signings this summer. Their first priority is the Athletic Club winger Nico Williams, and after him, they also want to sign Dani Olmo from RB Leipzig, while they have put the pursuit of a midfield pivot further back in their list of priorities.

One can argue that Dani Olmo is currently the closest to Barcelona, as he has already put Barcelona at the top of his priority list, which is not the case with Nico Williams.

The La Masia-trained forward is clear that he wants to return to Barcelona this summer, despite having better offers from other big clubs like Bayern Munich, Manchester United, and Manchester City.

The Catalans have already sent a first proposal for the footballer to RB Leipzig, which was rejected by the Germans. Under this proposal, Barcelona offered a sum of €40 million divided into four installments and some variables which would have taken the total package to €60 million, which was also the player’s release clause.

According to Mundo Deportivo, Olmo is now waiting for the Blaugranes to improve their offer but wants his future resolved before he rejoins RB Leipzig from his holidays on 9th August.

Dani Olmo and Barcelona have been linked with a reunion for the last few years. However, this summer seems to be his best chance of rejoining the Catalan club, as a player of his characteristics is needed in Barcelona.

He is fully backed by Deco, as the official believes that he can play in any attacking position and would also contribute goals, something the team has struggled with recently.

The new Barcelona coach, Hansi Flick, also fully agrees with Deco, especially as he has seen Olmo play up close during his time in the Bundesliga. Thus, stars seem to be aligning for Olmo to return to Barcelona this summer.
