Blackburn Rovers vs Burnley

Burnley make the short trip to Blackburn Rovers on Saturday lunchtime in a derby clash with more than bragging rights riding on it. The Championship promotion hopefuls go head-to-head at Ewood Park in a crunch clash.

Scott Parker’s Burnley side are second, with Blackburn in the play-off picture in fifth. However, the latter are on a four-game winless run that has dented automatic promotion hopes.

The Clarets command the better record in this fixture and are unbeaten in the last 10 encounters. Blackburn’s last victory over their arch-rivals came when both clubs were in the Premier League in 2010.

Fiorentina vs Napoli

Napoli can take advantage of Atalanta’s absence this week to take the top spot in Serie A. Antonio Conte’s side are seeking a fourth consecutive league win having rediscovered their form in the Scudetto chase.

Fiorentina’s surprise title challenge has stalled with just one point from the last nine available, though a spirited 2-2 draw at Juventus was a step in the right direction. La Viola will hope to claw their way back into the title race with a win, having dropped to fifth. The in-form Moise Kean will be key to their hopes, with only Mateo Retegui and Marcus Thuram having outscored the 24-year-old in Serie A this season.

Tottenham vs Newcastle

Can Ange Postecoglou turn things around at Tottenham?

The Australian is under pressure after a tough season to date and the fixture list has not been kind as we enter 2025. An in-form Newcastle side are the visitors to North London this weekend, in a fixture that rarely disappoints.

There have been an average of 4.6 goals scored in the last eight games between the sides.

One of the most passionate football cities in the world will stop this weekend when Roma take on Lazio in the Derby della Capitale.

It promises to be a fascinating showdown as the Serie A sides battle for crucial points at the Stadio Olimpico. Lazio will start as favourites and sit fourth in the table, within touching distance of the title race. Roma have endured a turbulent time in contrast and are already onto their third head coach of the campaign. Can the wily Claudio Ranieri mastermind a win in the first derby of the season?

Liverpool vs Manchester United

English football’s most successful sides meet this weekend as Liverpool take on Manchester United.

Liverpool can take another step closer to the Premier League title with a win against their fierce, but floundering, rivals. Manchester United are aiming to avoid a fifth consecutive defeat in all competitions, against a ground that has haunted them in recent campaigns. The Red Devils have not won at Anfield since 2016 and have not scored on their last four visits.
