40 top players who are out of contract in 2025
You might already be aware of this, but there are a hell of a lot of top level players who are going to be out of contract in 2025.
There’s been a lot of chatter about Liverpool‘s trio of stars entering the final six months of their current deals, to the point that it’s dominated the transfer rumour mill in the Premier League this season.
But it’s gone under the under the radar just how many household names are on the verge of becoming free agents this summer.
Bayern Munich have their own triumvirate of key men who could leave for nothing, with Alphonso Davies, Joshua Kimmich and Leroy Sane yet to sign new deals.
Kevin De Bruyne and Son Heung-min could end their long associations with Manchester City and Tottenham Hotspur respectively, while Bayer Leverkusen’s Jonathan Tah could be one of the most sought-after talents when his contract runs out.
Even Lionel Messi could be a free agent when his deal with Inter Miami expires in late 2025, as could Cristiano Ronaldo and Neymar in Saudi Arabia. This year promises a lot of massives moves with no transfer fees exchanging hands.
