Three former Arsenal goalkeepers have been nominated for Premier League Save of the Month in November, following David Raya’s award earlier in the season.

Arsenal seem to have a former goalkeeper at every other Premier League club right now, so maybe it should be no surprise that half of this month’s nominees for Save of the Month have previously represented the Gunners.

The Premier League confirmed their nominations for the November award on Thursday, with Aaron Ramsdale of Southampton first on the list.

Ramsdale got down quickly to deny Michael Keane a headed goal for Everton, pushing the ball onto the post and then making sure it didn’t cross the line as the defender attempted to follow up.

Next up was Lukasz Fabianski of West Ham United, who pulled off an impressive fingertips stop to keep out a curling effort from Nottingham Forest’s Ramon Sosa.

The third goalkeeper nominated was Bernd Leno, who denied Fabio Carvalho from close range to prevent Brentford taking the lead against Fulham.

Unfortunately there were no nominations for Emi Martinez (Aston Villa), Matt Turner (Crystal Palace) or David Raya, otherwise it could have been a clean sweep for Arsenal and ex-Arsenal goalkeepers.

Raya did win the award back in August for his fantastic reaction stop against Aston Villa.

Ollie Watkins thought he’d scored with a diving header from close range with Raya grounded, but the Spanish goalkeeper sprung up to keep the attempt out.

There was no recognition for his efforts this time around, but he’s already provided a strong December contender with an excellent stop to deny Matthijs de Ligt’s header on Wednesday.
