If the Bruins continue to struggle and decide to be sellers, let's look at three players who could be on the move.
Trent Frederic
Trent Frederic is a prime trade candidate for the Bruins. The 2016 first-round pick has been discussed often in the rumor mill, and his pending unrestricted free-agent status is a significant reason behind it. If he is not in the Bruins' long-term plans and they are out of a playoff spot near March, it would not be too surprising if he was moved.
Frederic, 26, has seven goals, 14 points, and 130 hits in 46 games played this season. While he has had a down year, playoff teams would love to have him on their rosters because of his toughness. He also had 18 goals and 40 points just last season.
Justin Brazeau
Justin Brazeau's name has started to come up in the rumor mill. Like Frederic, Brazeau is in a pending UFA, so he is another player to watch if he doesn't have an extension as we get closer to the deadline.
Brazeau would generate a lot of interest from playoff teams if made available, as he is a 6-foot-6 winger who can score and throw the body. He also has a $775,000 cap hit, which adds to his value. In 44 games this season, he has 10 goals, 19 points, and 72 hits.
Cole Koepke
Cole Koepke is another Bruin who could generate some interest near the deadline if they sell. The 26-year-old forward has been a big surprise for Boston this year, posting career highs with seven goals, 12 points, and 99 hits in 44 games. However, his pending UFA status makes things interesting.
With the Bruins signing linemate Mark Kastelic to an extension, it is fair to wonder if they will try to do the same with Koepke. However, if he remains a pending UFA near the deadline, he will be another player to keep an eye on if Boston sells.
