Whilst all the England teams from the u18s to the u21s were involved in matches and training camps over the October international break, the u17s had to wait for their Euro 2025 qualifiers kicking off later this week.

In anticipation of those qualifiers, England have confirmed their squad, with three Arsenal players involved.

Recent first-team debutant Jack Porter has made the squad, along with Theo Julienne and young Max Dowman. Though Dowman is still just 14 years old, he was already involved with the England u17s in September.

Also in the squad is former Arsenal academy player Owen Asemota, so Porter will have to compete with his old teammate for starts in goal.

Asemota and Porter actually faced off against each other at the weekend, starting in goal for the Villa and Arsenal u18s respectively. The match was level at 2-2 before Porter’s withdrawal for Khari Ranson late in the second half.

This is the first round of qualifers for next summer’s u17 Euros, with England set to play one game against each of the three teams in their group. The top-two teams will then progress to the next stage of qualification.

England will play Malta first on October 24th at 10:00 BST, then Latvia on October 27th at 10:00, and Sweden on October 30th at 13:30.
