2nd Real Madrid star forced out of Girona clash with injury
The personnel woes at La Liga champions Real Madrid have late this evening been added to once more.
This comes after Ferland Mendy was forced into a premature departure from the club’s meeting with Girona.
Carlo Ancelotti’s troops are of course currently locked in action, at the Estadi Montilivi.
Late in proceedings in Catalunya, Real Madrid find themselves in possession of a dominant three-goal advantage, owing to strikes on the part of all of Jude Bellingham, Arda Güler, and Kylian Mbappé.
This is not, though, to say that Los Blancos have enjoyed a smooth go of things on Saturday.
First, on the hour mark, Jude Bellingham went to ground clutching his thigh, before limping out of the clash to be replaced by Dani Ceballos.
And as much has since been added to by what appears to be a 2nd injury blow.
This comes after Ferland Mendy, on his return to Carlo Ancelotti’s XI, pulled up with a problem of his own, enough to see the Frenchman forced off for Fran García.
Updates on both players are expected post-match.
