Yahoo Sports 22-year-old La Liga star said yes to Chelsea move last week as deal moves closer
Villarreal’s Filip Jorgensen said yes to Chelsea last week according to transfer expert Fabrizio Romano, as the Blues step up their hunt for a new goalkeeper.
Chelsea are currently on their pre-season tour of America, and are preparing for their first friendly against Wrexham on Wednesday night.
The Athletic reported earlier this week the club are hopeful of making two or three more signings before the end of July, with a goalkeeper, striker and winger believed to be areas Chelsea are looking at.
Jorgensen said yes to Chelsea last week
The Blues signed two goalkeepers in Robert Sanchez and Djordje Petrovic just last summer, but clearly Enzo Maresca isn’t happy with those options and has requested a new keeper.
Chelsea seemingly haven’t wasted any time in identifying Jorgensen as the man they want, and it was reported by Romano on Wednesday morning the club had submitted their first offer in the region of €20m for the Dane.
Romano has added some details on the potential transfer and has reported the 22-year-old already said yes to the Chelsea move last week.
He took to X.com and said:
“Filip Jørgensen already said yes to Chelsea last week, he wants the move. Chelsea and Villarreal, in talks after €20m bid sent today as revealed.”

Jorgensen, who is yet to be capped by Denmark, made 37 appearances in all competitions for Villarreal last season and kept six clean sheets.
The Athletic have reported that Chelsea and Villarreal are currently discussing a fee between €20m-€25m for Jorgensen who has a release clause of €45m.

He clearly ticks the boxes of what Chelsea are looking for in a new keeper, with good distribution said to be a key attribute the club are looking for.
It certainly seems a deal could progress quickly from here, and the Blues will no doubt want to wrap this one up given French club Marseille are also interested.
