Pablo Torre was one of the FC Barcelona players who spent the last season on loan. He joined Girona for a season, and although he was not a starter for Michel, he still played some minutes when other top midfielders were unavailable.

Having returned to Barcelona this summer, the midfielder was looking to take advantage of the managerial change at the Blaugrana club and convince Hansi Flick to give him an important role in the Catalan team’s squad for the next season.

However, as SPORT has reported, the preseason has started in an unfortunate manner for Torre, as he fractured his fifth metacarpal in training, and will have to undergo surgery to recover from this injury.

Still, the issue is not too serious, and the midfielder will be able to participate in the upcoming tour of the USA starting from 28th July. He will have to rest only for 4-5 days after the surgery, and this rest is aimed at preventing his wound from getting infected due to sweat.

After this period of rest, he will make a gradual return to the team training. Torre had made a positive impression as he returned to Barcelona and started the preseason under the new coach, Hansi Flick.

While this setback will keep him from continuing to impress in training, he will still be able to participate in the USA tour, in which he and several other members of the squad will look to impress the German tactician and claim an important role in the squad for the next season.

Meanwhile, the Spaniard will undergo surgery on Thursday, and before this surgery takes place, he will continue to train to maintain his physical shape.
