Manchester United are active in the winter transfer window as they face urgent need to bolster their squad.

Due to Profit and Sustainability Rules (PSR), they have to sell first to make financial headroom.

According to Manchester Evening News, Toby Collyer is open to a transfer to a Championship club this month if a suitable offer emerges.

Collyer broke through under former head coach Erik ten Hag.

The Dutch manager reportedly ‘really liked‘ the 20-year-old.

It was believed that Collyer would feature prominently in the first team this season.

This expectation grew after his confident performance in the 3-0 loss to Liverpool, where he replaced Casemiro at halftime.

His composed display in the heart of midfield suggested he could be a dependable presence for the team moving forward.

The youngster played the full 90 minutes in the 7-0 victory over Barnsley in the Carabao Cup.

However, an unfortunate injury halted his progress, sidelining him for more than two months.

Manager Ruben Amorim has included him in the past four matchday squads but has yet to give him any minutes on the pitch.

With Mason Mount’s ongoing injury troubles and the declining performances of Casemiro and Christian Eriksen, United are in urgent need of revitalising their midfield.

Eriksen is in the final year of his current contract and looks set to leave the club in the summer.

The Red Devils are ready to part ways with Casemiro and are waiting for offers from Saudi Arabia.

Collyer could make a name for himself under Amorim considering his athleticism and ability to press.

However, a lucrative offer from Championship clubs could tempt him to consider a transfer.
