Manchester United must sell players before they make another venture into the transfer market.

Signing another centre-back, full-back and midfielder is crucial for Man United to bolster their squad.

Scott McTominay is one of United’s current players with decent market value.

Fulham are interested in signing the Scotland international but have had two offers turned down by United.

According to Sky Sports journalist Dharmesh Seth, Fulham are unlikely to make another offer for McTominay after their latest £20 million bid was rejected.

Turkish champions Galatasaray are also keen on signing him but are not expected to meet United’s valuation of around £30m.

Selling McTominay is critical but only at the right price

The 27-year-old has one year left in his current contract with United but the club have the option to extend his deal by 12 months.

The United academy product played a crucial role last season. Erik ten Hag described him as an ‘important squad player’ last month.

However, he is among the few saleable assets for the Red Devils.

Casemiro, Jadon Sancho and Victor Lindelof face uncertain futures at Old Trafford.

However, due to the lack of interest from clubs, they might stay at United for another season.

Offloading McTominay will pave the way for the club to target a holding midfielder.

With Casemiro’s waning influence, Ten Hag needs a robust player who can anchor the midfield.

United could offload McTominay for £30m, which seems reasonable. He can play multiple positions and offer a goalscoring threat.

The Red Devils will be hoping another club steps in with a more substantial bid so they can part ways with the midfielder.

The proceeds from his sale would go down as pure profit, given he is an academy player.
