The Blainville-Boisbriand Armada have acquired goaltender Felix Hamel from the Shawinigan Cataractes in exchange for prospect defenseman Noah Collette, a 2026 second round pick (from the Tigres) and a 2025 third round pick (originally from the Huskies).

Hamel, 19, has a .911 save percentage across 22 games with the Shawinigan Cataractes this season.

Hamel found himself surprisingly expendable by the team with the return of Mathys Fernandez (.914 in 5) and the signing of 2025 NHL draft eligible Owen Bresson (.919 in 6). As such, the Cataractes have recouped as much value as they can for a player in this position.

As for the Armada, they get a real solid netminder -- one that can provide further stability after the failure of the Martin Haronik experiment (.886 over 5). One has to imagine that this move doesn't bode well for overage goaltender Remi Delafontaine (.895 over 18).

The Cataractes picked up former 2023 third round pick Noah Collette in the trade as well. Collette, 17, has been playing with South Kent Prep School, although his stats aren't available on EliteProspects for this season. He had 25 points (3+22) across 52 games with the program last season.

He's a 2026 NHL draft eligible prospect.
