2025 NFL mock draft: Bears make surprise pick in Top 10
The Chicago Bears found their new head coach in Ben Johnson, which was a huge hire as the franchise looks to make strides. Now, the focus shifts to improving the roster, where general manager Ryan Poles will have top-five salary cap space and plenty of draft capital to improve several positions of need.
The biggest position of need is the offensive line, where there are three (perhaps four) starting spots that need to be filled outside of right tackle Darnell Wright. Chicago will no doubt target some big names in free agency, including guard Trey Smith and center Drew Dalman, but there are also some draft prospects who are NFL-ready.
In the latest mock draft from NFL.com's Daniel Jeremiah, the Bears select Alabama guard Tyler Booker with the No. 10 pick to shore up the interior of the offensive line. Protecting quarterback Caleb Williams is paramount, and Booker would be a huge get for Chicago.
I think Booker is one of the safest picks in the draft. He will help firm up the interior offensive line for Caleb Williams.
Booker is a two-year starter at left guard for Alabama, where he earned first team All-SEC honors in 2023 and 2024. He's a punishing run blocker and is strong in pass protection, as well. He would be the perfect addition to the Bears' interior offensive line that will be looking for two new starting guards this offseason.
Typically, offensive guards don't go in the Top 10, yet alone the first round, unless you're sure they're a bonafide stud. But for a team like Chicago who are in need of interior offensive line help, Booker would be a plug-and-play guard that would immediately upgrade the offensive line.
