2025 NFL mock draft: Bears shore up offensive line with first round pick
The Chicago Bears have some big holes to fill on the roster this offseason, but none more important than along the offensive line, where there could be three to four new starters in 2025.
The Bears are in a prime position to shore up the offensive line for quarterback Caleb Williams with $80 million in salary cap space and the 10th overall pick in the 2025 NFL draft. But outside of former first-round pick Darnell Wright, general manager Ryan Poles hasn't hit on offensive linemen. Could that change in this year's draft?
In a new mock draft from CBS Sports' Ryan Wilson, the Bears focus on the trenches landing a top tackle in LSU's Will Campbell with the 10th overall pick. It would be the second time in three years that Chicago would draft an offensive tackle in the top 10 (Wright was selected at No. 10 in 2023).
Here's what CBS Sports had to say:
Will Campbell has been my OT2 throughout, and while he's not as athletic as Kelvin Banks Jr., he's been incredibly consistent throughout his LSU career. He had his struggles with Jared Verse in 2023 (who didn't), and the formidable South Carolina front four gave him trouble at times this season. But he held his own against Arkansas' Landon Jackson, who will be a high-round pick in April.
Campbell is the second offensive tackle off the board in this mock with the New England Patriots selecting Texas' Kelvin Banks Jr. at fourth overall.
Williams' development is a prime focus for the Bears this offseason, and that starts with shoring up the offensive line after Williams was sacked a league-high 68 times in his rookie season. A pairing of Campbell and Wright on the edge would be a great start to building a solid offensive line.
